Worship and Liturgy Resources

How We Pray:

Liturgy is the word we use describe the church’s public worship of God. The term is derived from Greek words for “people” and “work.” It is the church’s public worship of God as the work of the Christian people. We believe the life of Christ is active in the church by the Spirit as expressed through liturgy. Our liturgy conveys our identity and mission while also calling others to serve with us. There are many liturgies of The Episcopal Church in the Book of Common Prayer and new ones being developed all the time.

Music in The Episcopal Church can be as diverse as its worship services. Did you know the final authority over the music used in an Episcopal service is “the duty of every Minister” (Canon 24, Section 1)? It draws us together in the same way our prayers do.
